Historic Thanksgiving
Remick Museum - Tamworth
Come enjoy some good food, a warm fire, country crafts, and a healthy dose of history at Historic Thanksgiving on Saturday. Our museum interpreters will prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal on the open hearth using historic recipes.
The menu for Historic Thanksgiving includes roasted turkey, bread sauce stuffing-dressing, hearth bread and butter, boiled cider pie, Indian pudding, pumpkin stuffed with apples and cranberry sauce. In the English Barn, try your hand at making apple cider, and make a corn cob feather dart.
Are you raising your own turkey for Thanksgiving this year? Take the next step, and see a demonstration on how to properly "dress" a turkey- from slaughtering the bird, to plucking feathers, to cleaning and storing poultry. This activity will take place outdoors on the farm- only those interested in turkey processing will see the activity.

November 7 - Ski Club Annual Ski Sale
The Annual Ski Club Ski Sale returns to Gunstock Mountain Resort on November 1st 9am-3pm. Get some great deals and be ready for winter - over 1 million dollars in skis, boards and accessories.
No charge to get in.
Consignment drop-offs Friday 12-8pm in lower level of the main lodge.
Private Shopping for Gunstock Ski Club members on Friday October 31st from 5-8pm.

Nov 21 - 5th Annual Turkey Plunge - Laconia
The annual Turkey Plunge, a dip in Lake Winnipesaukee to support the
work of the local Salvation Army, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 21.
Businesses and individuals will meet at 10 a.m. at Weirs Beach with
music, costumes, children's activities and homemade hot chocolate
sponsored by Lago's.
The plunge takes place at noon, followed by a chowder/chili fest at
Funspot Bingo Hall, sponsored by Fratello's, Kitchen Cravings, Lakes
Region Community College Culinary Program, O's Steakhouse, Patrick's Pub
and Eatery, T'Bones and Coca Cola of Belmont. The luncheon is free to
those who plunge and is offered at a fee to non-plungers.
Plunger registration packets are available at the Salvation Army Corps
office in Laconia and at any Meredith Village Savings Bank office. To
register a team, e-mail Ryan_Robinson use.salvationarmy.org.
